I am happy to report that in the past few days, we have received some fantastic photos of Clark Gable items for the project. We are anxious to find more, however, so if you have any Clark-owned items in your collection, such as cheques, letters, identity cards, etc. etc. and wouldn't mind us using reproductions of them in the book, please get in touch. You will of course be acknowledged.

Collectors wanted

As 'Gable: The Ties That Bind' is very much a personal look at Clark Gable's life, we would very much like to include interviews, memories, photos of personally-owned memorabilia, personal snapshots etc. in both the book and the documentary.

Clark and Carole

Carole Lombard and Clark Gable were the dream couple of Hollywood. Both divorcees, they married during a break in 'Gone With The Wind' and after Gable had obtained a divorce from his long-separated wife, Ria.

When Carole died in a plane crash in 1942, Clark was devastated. He brought her body back from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and shortly after joined the war, declaring to friends that he 'didn't give a hoot' if he came back, as life was not worth living without Carole.

I found the following video on YouTube and I think it is excellent. It conveys the love the couple shared, and the heartache felt by Gable after his wife's death.

Clark Gable: The Ties That Bind - An Introduction

Welcome to a blog dedicated to the upcoming documentary and book, 'Gable: The Ties That Bind'.

This project is a co-production between Michelle Morgan and Tegan Summer Productions, and is scheduled for release in late 2011/early 2012.
